Up on the rooftop...

Reindeers pause. Nope, it's just me! I had to fix the lights that had fallen. While up there, RJ started singing this song! :)

This is it. The last day of the DBC. I hope that this has jumpstarted my blogging. I would like to be a little more current with the happenings of the Thibodeaux family.

For now, I leave you with the picture used on our Christmas card!

On the first day of Christmas....

The Thibodeauxs cleaned for 4.5 hours. But hey, my house looks great now! :) It was well worth it. And I can relax the rest of my vacation!

My post is late tonight. Sorry. I was doing soooo good with the DBC. But, since Robert hired a babysitter tonight and we got to go shopping and to dinner with some good friends, I think it was well worth it! :)

I'll be home for Christmas...

We are officially on Christmas vacation!! WOOHOO!!! Don't have to go back to work until January 4th!

We don't have a lot planned, which is kind of how I like it. I am a busy body, and I'm sure we'll do something almost every day. But we only have 3 days planned.

Tomorrow, Robert and I have hired a sitter, and we are going to find Santa. I can't wait. RJ is at the fun stage of it all!!

I'm Gettin' Nuttin' For Christmas

Mommy and Daddy are mad
I'm gettin' nuttin' for Christmas
Cause I ain't been nuttin' but bad!

This is RJ's theme song this week. He has gotten in trouble 2 days in a row. UGH!

I'm still debating on allowing him to attend his Christmas party tomorrow. I do plan on him going, he just doesn't know that I've made up my mind! :)

We Wish You A Merry Christmas

This is the song that RJ has been singing all afternoon since I picked him up from school today. So, from our family to yours:

We Wish You A Merry Christmas
We Wish You A Merry Christmas
We Wish You A Merry Christmas
And A Happy New Year!

Oh Holy Night!

Well, today, my hubby turned 33! WOW! He still looks good! :)

I didn't bring work home for the first time since I don't know when!

My children amaze me more and more each day. RJ with his intelligence, and Trevor with his learning to put sentences together.

Only 3 days left of school until a long awaited break!

Do You Hear What I Hear?

Tomorrow is Robert's birthday. RJ and I went to Dollar General this evening to get supplies to create the Perfect Birthday Cake! While there, this song was playing over the speakers. RJ asked, "Mommy, do you hear what I hear?" I said, yes...the music playing. He said, "No, that's your song!" So, who knew that this was my song! :) I do like the song and I always sing along, but I sing along with all of the Christmas Carols.

What Child Is This?

RJ - woke up yesterday morning with a red face. I mean RED face. It looked like a rash, so my first thought was the he was allergic to something he ate or drank. I gave him Benadryl. I checked his temperature - perfectly normal! So we decided to see if it got better or worse before we did anything else. This morning, it was worse. The rash had spread to his arms and started to spread to his torso. Urgent Care - here we come! We baffled the doctor. We don't have fever, we are eating and drinking normally. We are acting like a normal 5-year-old. So, what's the problem? Hmmm....We'll do a strep test. GREAT! Just what we need when we only have 5 days left before our long awaited vacation. Strep test came back negative. So, that's not it. Hmmm....could just be allergies and a sinus infection. His nose is clogged, he's been snoring, his ears are cloudy. So, we left with 3 prescriptions. Oh what fun!

Trevor - has been the fussiest he's ever been today. What is going on? What child is this? He has cried or thrown a fit over EVERYTHING! He should be napping now, but for some reason, I hear noises coming from upstairs. This can only mean one thing - Early Bed Time Tonight!!!

We went and bought presents for their Christmas parties at school. The parties are not until Friday, but they have to take their presents tomorrow. So, we'll be wrapping after nap time. RJ loves helping with the wrapping.

Until tomorrow.....Have a great day!!!!

I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus

Tell me why RJ does NOT like this song!!! He does not like the fact that I would do such a thing. I am only supposed to kiss daddy! And him and Trevor. Not Santa!!

Kids are sooo great and funny! :) They bring such joy.

Well, the boys went shopping today for my Christmas presents. I am taking them this afternoon to buy Robert's birthday and Christmas presents. Is it bad of me that I am going to buy another present tomorrow, when I have a $10 off coupon? I sure hope not.

Have a great weekend!

All I want for Christmas is My Two Front Teeth...

Not really. But, I would like, in the words of Miss Congeniality, "World Peace." Okay, really just peace at work. I am soooo looking forward to my vacation....it can't come soon enough. Only 5 days left of work!

Today was really rough at work. I had a situation arise, where my morals came into play. I was raised in a Christian home and I always strive to treat others the way I would want to be treated. So, that's what I stuck to today...even though others were trying to make me say things about others. I REFUSE!!

On a lighter note: Today, Santa came to visit the boys at daycare. They got to wear their pajamas to school! I wish I could! :)

Jingle Bells

Today was the annual Wassail at CISD. Now that I have an administrative position, I get to serve the community and staff for an hour. Santa and Mrs. Claus always make an appearance. The school choirs and bands perform as well.

So, today, at 3 pm, I went and picked up the boys early from daycare and took them to the Admin building. They needed to see Santa! While there, they listened nicely to a choir sing. When the choir was done, RJ got on the risers and started singing Jingle Bells! :)

Santa Claus is coming to town...

A little background information: My brother (Bubba) is a firefighter in Arlington, TX. He was living in an apartment, and just recently bought his first house (He's looking forward to his $8,000 thanks to Obama). It is located in Burleson, TX.

This song came on the radio the other day, and RJ sang, "Santa Claus is coming to Texas and to Arlington." So, I chuckled. Too cute! He proceeded to tell me that Santa had to go to Arlington to visit Bubba. I said "You are right!" He then asked me what Bubba wanted for Christmas. I wasn't sure, so I asked him to think about it. A few moments later, he said, "I know! Bubba needs a new hunting hat."

So, there you have it. Santa Claus is coming to Texas and to Arlington! I'm not in the mood to explain that Bubba doesn't live in Arlington anymore. Why ruin the fun?

Joy to the World

The last few weeks at work have been really stressful. I don't think that I have ever felt so miserable at my job. I feel that I am not being successful and effective.

With that being said, I am constantly reminded of a love that is unconditional. Today the song that keeps playing in my head is "If God is for us, who can be against us? No power on Earth can take His love away."

Although my life seems bogged down in stress and work, I would like to think about the Joys that I have in my life. I have an amazing husband. He supports me in everything I do. He was there for me when I went back to school to get my masters degree. He is encouraging me to follow my dreams and apply to go back to school to receive my doctoral degree. He is WONDERFUL! I have also been blessed with 2 great children. RJ and Trevor truly are the loves of my life. I am so thankful that God has chosen me to raise them.

As we enter into this season, please remember this family. http://bandssullivan.blogspot.com/

Happy Holidays!!

Sleigh Ride

So, this time last year, I was dreaming about a white Christmas and going for a sleigh ride. We went to Colorado last year for a whole week. So, my dream came true.

This year, we are staying home. Home, here in Baytown. Probably won't be a white Christmas. Probably won't have a sleigh ride. But, will enjoy being at home with my boys!

Sweet Brothers

The night that Trevor hurt his lip, he woke up about 11 pm crying, I am sure in pain. Robert went and soothed him, and then couldn't get him to lie back down without fussing. So, he finally put Trevor in bed with RJ. Apparently, he told RJ to take care of his little brother. I went up there about midnight to check on them. Trevor was asleep, and RJ was sitting up next to him, rubbing his back. I told RJ that it was time for him to go to sleep. He told me that his dad told him to take care of Trevor, and so he didn't want to sleep.

How long do you think this sweetness will last?

Trevor

On Tuesday, Trevor gave us a scare. About 11:30, the DayCare Director called me and told me that he had fallen in the gym, and had busted his lip. No biggie...Right? WRONG! Then she told me that the nurse wasn't sure if he needed stitches or not. She didn't think he did, but she couldn't look on the inside because Trevor wouldn't let her. So, I took off over to their hallway...it's only 3 and a walkway away from my office...to check on him. It was still bleeding some, and we got him to allow the nurse to look inside. It was cut pretty bad on the inside. Plus, there was a cut on the outside, and the lip had already started swelling. I called the doctor's office, and they needed to talk to the doctor and were going to call me back. So, while I waited, I called Robert. After about 10 minutes, I took Trevor back to his classroom and laid him on his mat for naptime. I figured he could at least rest some until we knew what the next step was. The doctor's office finally called me back, and told me to take him to the emergency room. AUGH!!! So, I start to panic. Not only b/c I have to take my baby to the ER, but b/c Robert has a football game that afternoon, I had a meeting with a teacher, and a lot of other things that needed to be done at work. But it all had to be put on hold. I went back to the DayCare, got Trevor, left RJ's carseat there for my mom to get him after work, and took off to the ER. They were packed! After about 45 minutes, we decided to go to Urgent Care instead. They weren't much faster. Finally, we saw the doctor. She decided that he would be ok without stitches!!!! Praise the Lord! He was given an antibiotic to keep the lip from getting infected. He seems to be getting better! Here is a picture of what it looks like today, 4 days later!

RJ

So, last Sunday, we decided to try a new church. One here in Baytown just built on a new location, and they were finally holding services. I asked RJ if he wanted to try a new church, and he told me yes. So, myself and the 2 boys met my mom and dad at the church. They had a WONDERFUL children's section. It was really nice looking.

On Tuesday in the mail, RJ and Trevor both got a postcard. I read it to RJ, and it said, "Glad you joined us at Kidventure Sunday, and hope to see you next week." This thrilled RJ. I told him that I didn't know if we would go again the next week. His response was, "But Mom, they want me to come back. And if I don't go, they will be sad."

Love it!!!!!

Church

Normally during football season, going to church is few and far between. Robert works most Sundays, so I choose to stay at home with the boys. However, this Sunday (today) was different...

Saturday night, RJ asked Robert if we could go to church again. How do you keep a 4 year old from going to church when he really wants to go? I can't! So, this morning, we got up, Robert helped me get the boys dressed, and we made it to early service!

Catching Up!

So, I haven't posted in a while. Life is crazy! We are 4 weeks into football season. Only 6 weeks of regular season left! Channelview is 0-3 and North Shore is 3-1. I enjoyed this week being the bye week for Channelview. Maybe next year, CV and NS can have the same bye weeks! :)

Robert has been pretty busy with work. The middle schools play on Mondays and Tuesdays, and then he has the Varsity games on Fridays. Then work all weekend long. UGH!

I have been working non-stop since school began. I've gotten to work early and stayed late on most days. Hopefully, it will start to slow down soon.

The boys are doing great. RJ loves going to school. He gets upset if it's not a school day. He is learning a lot...including how to behave nicely so that when he goes to Kinder next year, he's not in for a shock! Trevor is growing fast. He weighs almost 30 pounds. He is learning a lot too...like how to use his personality, temper, for good or bad! :)

Hopefully I'll get my camera back soon so that I can show you how big my boys are.

Sickness!

Well, we've been back to work about 2.5 weeks. And the boys have not gotten their immune systems built up yet. They both have had runny noses and the sniffles. I've been giving them Zyrtec every night before bed to help. However, Zyrtec does NOT keep the stomach virus away!

Tuesday evening, RJ complained that he felt like he needed to throw up. We let him sleep in our bed just in case. He never did! Thank goodness.

On Wednesday, I was walking out of the daycare building with the boys, and Trevor decided to throw up in the hallway and continue outside on the sidewalk. YUCK! I brought them home, and once home, gave him watered down apple juice. He sucked it down! After about 5 minutes, he threw up again.

We kept him home on Thursday. Thanks to my daddy for coming and taking care of him so that Robert and I didn't have to miss a day of work.

On Friday, he went back to daycare. Friday afternoon, I picked up the boys, picked up Mom and took Mom home. I had to go back to CV for the JV football game. On the way from Mom's to CV, Trevor threw up all over himself in his car seat. So, I called my athletic director, explained what was happening, cancelled the cheerleaders from cheering, and came home with my boys. By the time Robert got home, Trevor was feeling/acting fine. We went out to eat as a family. Towards the end of our dinner, Trevor decided to throw up again.

We went straight to the Urgent Care Center. There we discovered that Trevor has a stomach virus. There is nothing we can do for it. We can keep him away from dairy and let the virus run its course. It should take about 5-7 days.

Poor Baby has been sleeping all morning today. You know he doesn't feel good!

Another Summer Down

It has been a while since my last post. So much has happened, so little has happened.

I left my camera at a friend's house. I have some new pictures that I want to share, but won't be able to until I get my camera back. That was at the beginning of August. That just goes to show how busy both of our lives are that we can't even get a date together to meet!

Tomorrow starts another school year. Robert and I have been back at work for a few weeks already. The boys went back to daycare about 1.5 weeks ago. They have both been moved into a new class. Trevor is in the Older Toddler class and RJ is now in the 4 year old class. I can't believe my babies are getting so big! RJ is counting down the days to his 5 birthday. AUGH!!!

My office has moved. I have spent the last few days at work unpacking boxes. These boxes were "thrown" together. So not only am I unpacking, but I am also having to organize. There are TONS of papers that need to be filed as well. Hopefully it will get done this week. It's hard to do any real work until all of that gets done!

Robert has started his weekend duties. He will be working Saturdays and Sundays until football season is over. I wish NS a great season, but I miss my husband! :)

Until next time....

This weekend

So, we've had a busy weekend! But a lot of fun. I had CAMT conference all week at George R Brown Convention Center. Robert stayed at home with the boys.

On Friday, we met up with our friends, the Edingers, down in Galveston. We visited the Aquarium Pyramid at Moody Gardens, ate at the Rainforest Cafe, and then played on the beach! What a blast!

That night, I went to a birthday party for my good friend Challie. She and I have been friends since high school. She turns 30 today!

Saturday, we drove to College Station to celebrate Robert's friend Alan's birthday. He turned 30 as well. We met up with the Edingers on the way to CS.

Today, Robert left for Coaching School. He goes every year. I already miss him, but he'll be home on Wednesday.

Tomorrow, the boys and I are going to make cookies! Tuesday, we are going to meet the Edingers (minus Chris - he's at coaching school too) at the zoo!

What a fun way to start ending the summer!

Busy Busy Lives

So, since last I posted, we have been busy and not busy.
Robert went to the Coushatta in Kinder, LA to stay and play. Him and a few other guys go, share a hotel room, and play golf. They also find time to gamble.
For July 4th, my parents took RJ to visit Bubba in Arlington. He had a blast!! They saw fireworks, went to a Rangers game, went to the baseball museum, and swam. Robert's paretns took Trevor. They didn't do much, but they sure did enjoy him, and he enjoyed getting all of the attention. Robert and I didn't do much. We just relaxed without the kiddos. We did go down to the park here in Baytown to watch the fireworks. It sure was quiet around the house without my babies!
Robert took a few weeks off from working a summer work-out program. He's back to work now, but I did enjoy while he was home. He goes in Mondays through Thursdays from 7 am - 12 noon.
A coach from the high school had extra tickets to the Astros game on Wednesday, July 8th. Robert got them, and we took the boys. They seemed to enjoy it. Only problem: 1 pm game - right in the middle of naptime. They actually didn't do too bad.
Thursday, July 9th, my favorite show Big Brother started up again for the summer season. WooHoo! We have some friends that are into it just as much as we are, so we invited them over. It was a lot of fun!
This week, I am going to CAMT. Last year it was in Dallas, this year it is in Houston. PTL! I will get to come home every night, see my boys, and sleep in my own bed!
I have posted a few pictures from our Astros Extravaganza!
Until next time - Keep Smiling!!

Trevor enjoying the game!

RJ hitting at water - Harder than it looks.

Aren't my Boys so darn cute?!?!
